The Original Cut is a specialist Avid facility. We have an Avid offline and online edit suite; its features includes 3D DVE; and intraframe paint. It is connected via a Unity storage system. Our large and comfortable suite is available for dry hire or with one of our experienced editors.

| We can accept footage on virtually any format from Digibeta through to MiniDV and even Umatic and VHS. Similarly, all graphics formats are supported for still frames and animation which can be emailed through to us and incorporated into an edit session. Audio is supported on DAT, CD, MP3, AIF, WAV, etc.

| Our latest services include DVD authoring and mastering to 3.95 and 4.7GB DVD discs. Depending on the encoding options, up to 3 hours of broadcast quality video can be stored on a single disc and played on any consumer DVD player. We can build interactive menus and slideshows, along with web links and other interactive features.
DVD's offer superb picture and audio quality combined with interactive features. History reel compiles, research videos and presentations can all be maximised using the capabilities of DVD. Call us to discuss your requirements. |

| MPEG is a type of data compression used to store video, digitally. We have a real-time MPEG system which allows us to encode video as it plays off a Digibeta, BetaSP, or MiniDV tape. High quality MPEG movies can be made quickly and distributed via email or be made accessable on our high speed web server. MPEG format gives excellent compaibility across all computer platforms. Clients can view these movies using the popular Apple® Quicktime Player™ or Windows® Media Player™ |

| Our high-speed web server: www.cut.co.nz is a secure multimedia website where acency and clients can download MPEG or Quicktime movies. A secure user name and password is provided, and all access to the server is monitored. TVC edits in progress, final edits, showreels, conference videos, animatics and pitch videos can all be made into downloadable movies and accessed on our server.
